September sees the first Microdacyn Super-Oxidised Solution (SOS) being supplied to the Pacific Islands.

The Cook Islands, like New Zealand experience a high rate of skin sores and skin infections. The infections predominantly occur in children and are caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.

Microdacyn is a significant advance in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds,  working to reduce the time taken wound healing:

  • Microdacyn is used to irrigate and debride the wond area creating an optimal moist healing environment

  • Physical kill of microbes including bacteria, drug resistant bacteria, fungi, viruses and spores.

The therapeutic benefits of Microdacyn use include reduction of inflammation and improved wound healing.

Microdacyn is non-antibiotic and non-cytotoxic to be well tolerated and minimises the risk of developing drug resistance.

For further information please see our Medicines page.

Microdacyn is a Medsafe WAND listed Medical Device. No prescription is required. Full information is available on product page.
